CALIBRATION TO A MASTER
1.) Insert Allen wrench through holes on
the top of the instrument (in line with eccentrics) and
loosen set screws.
2.) Using the same Allen wrench adjust the two eccentrics
(the eccentric located on the side of the intrument will
adjust the GAUGING COLUMN front to back) (the eccentric
located on the back of the instrument will adjust the
GAUGING COLUMN side to side).
3.) Position the indicator on the unit (refer to
brochure). Take indicator readings first at the bottom of
the master then at the top.
4.) With indicator at the top position adjust the
eccentric to obtain the same reading as when the
indicator is at the the bottom.
5.) Repeat this procedure until readings are the same
from top to bottom of the master. Then lock set screws on
the top of the instrument. It should not be necessary to
readjust again unless the surface plate is not accurate
or the instrument is stored or moved to another location.
Remember
always adjust eccentrics with the indicator in the top
position.
